Is it really the thought that counts?

A popular saying we always hear especially during holiday season which focuses mainly on receiving gifts. Christmas is giving. But are you sure you will not get disappointed if you don't receive any gift this Christmas?
Money seems tight these days. However, we always want to give something nice to our loved ones because we want them to be happy. Unfortunately by the time we buy what we think they will highly appreciate, we realized that our budget is not enough. So if someone will give you something that you think is cheap and it doesn't meet your expectations, don’t get disappointed. Be thankful instead and give a smile. What is important is they remembered you... that makes the gift special.
We are not as fortunate as others who can buy anything to give with satisfaction what their loved ones want for Christmas. But we are fortunate if we can use our heart instead in deciding what to buy for a gift.
Reflecting further on this, I can say it is better to receive a gift or a card worth fifty pesos if you know that it came from the heart of the giver than receiving a gift worth five thousand pesos but out of pressure only.
I am not saying that expensive gifts have lesser thought. What I am trying to say is that every gift whether expensive or not is special. Because I believe that in every gift a thought was shared. You put a lot of thought in your gift that is why it counts...
