Independence Day is one of the most significant day that every country needs to remember. It is the day they fought to claim their sovereignty.
Last June 17, 2007, Philippine Embassy commemorated our 109th Independence Day and 11th Migrant Worker’s Day at Banquet Hall, Hamilton Hotel, Seoul, South Korea . Many institutions and organizations graced this said occasion. Among them is the Ansan Filipino Community who presented a dance number to the tune of Kembot. Other Organizations from different places such as Hyewadong, Incheon, El Shaddia, Kasan, VISMIN, and Pugad Pinoy in Action also performed their own song and dance numbers. Moreover, Government Representatives from OWWA, DOLE and DFA Secretary gave short messages to the Migrant Filipino workers. In addition to this, a plaque of recognition was given to Ms. Maria Park/Eun Hee Park and Police Officer Dong-Il Kim for their dedication in helping the migrant workers. We truly commend them. Finally, Zecharias Davao Trio sung a medly disco song which set everybody on stage to groove with them. The event ended well.

Indeed, Filipinos are proud to make tribute on the said event. Eventhough we are far from our motherland, still, we find ways to celebrate one of the most important days in our country… our Freedom.
