Every summer vacation will never be complete unless we indulge ourselves in beaches and appreciate the heat of the sun. This year, Galilea chose Pineville Resort in Hwaseong to be the venue of Summer Camp 2007. The place was nice and the nature seemed like haven for someone who needs to relax from a busy and tiring work as their website promotes…
As we arrived in the place, we were disappointed to see that indeed it was miles away from the pictures in their website. But we didn't lose hope. We were delighted by the way the first batch made all the necessary arrangements to make the place as pleasant as possible. The foods they prepared were superb. We’re all satisfied. After we ate, we formally started the program by lighting a bonfire.
The following day, everybody still tried their best to make this event as enjoyable as the previous summer camps. There were lots of experiences and happenings that we ought to treasure. Several enthusiastic games were participated by four active families. These include picture frame, charade, trust me, chopstick relay, fill the bottle with water, flag-searching, and the all-time favorites -- trip to jerusalem and paper dance. Everyone had fun and played cool with high sense of sportsmanship. The game ended with group 1(Transformer) as the champion and groups 2 (Voltes 5), 3 (Power ranger), and 4 (Fantastic four) respectively as the runner-ups. In addition to this, Fantastic four won the Sportsmanship award for acknowledging their pleasant admission of their loses.
To top it all, everyone enjoyed the vacation because of the fascinating experience under the heavy rain. The rain which everybody hates on a vacation became the most exciting part of this event. We felt like a kid as we play with the rain and wander the entire place while playing games. It did not ruin our stay there rather it gave a spice and became an instrument to make our vacation worthy and memorable.
Actually, the place was not that bad, though it had some flaws that was vanquished by the people who made used of it. We were very disappointed at first, but we never thought that it could turn out exciting and happy. We have learned that it is not really the place that would make us happy. It is about on how we enjoy what we have and make the most out of it. We just need to look at the brighter side and uncover the mask in a different dimension. Doing so, we could now say that the place was after all, indeed, a paradise.
In behalf of Fr. Noel, we would like to thank all the participants and the AFC volunteers especially the first batch who sacrificed a lot and delinquently made the place presentable and comfortable.
