The Concert for the Philippine Migrant Workers in Korea is one of the big events that happened this year. The news apparently spread fast when it was announced that the concert is free, transportation is provided, snack is supplied, and souvenirs will be given. Hence, a lot of Filipinos and Koreans attended to watch the performance.
It was held in Dalmaji Theater at Ansan Culture and Arts Center last 04 November 2007 which was being hosted by Ms. Seo-Yeon Yoon (Producer for Gugak Broadcasting) and Fr. Noel Ferrer, SVD. The 2007 Grand Musical Festival was entitled “Beautiful Asian” which comprised of the presentation of top Korean and Philippine performers. The first production was performed by Song, Mi-sook Dance Troupe (A Sword Dance), followed by Johnny Band (Anak and Dahil Sa’yo), Gugak Broadcasting Orchestra (Festival), Joo-Sun Cho (Mother and The tale of Rabbit), Ka Youl Choo (Millions of Roses, Something to tell you, and Don’t go away), and Kyla’s song numbers. It has the objective of showing what Korean culture has, though, Kyla’s performance was the highlight of the program. The Philippine RnB Princess sung and danced with the songs If I were you, Love will lead you back, Home, Broken-Hearted, If the feeling is gone, and Hanggang Ngayon. Picture-taking is restricted, but because they couldn’t resist the charm of this lady, still our kababayans couldn’t help but bring out their cameras and take a picture of her.

The concert lasted for two hours and was well enjoyed by everybody. It was followed immediately with the cd signing of Kyla’s album outside the theater. A long line of her fans denoted that she was very much appreciated by the Migrant workers here.
So in behalf of Fr. Noel, we would like to thank Ansan City Government Foreign Workers Welfare Support Center for sponsoring this beautiful concert. This concert once made a weekend of the Migrant workers more happy and entertaining.
