“God will always grant your heart’s desires and He will always have a purpose for everything that happens in your life!" These were the words that I always carry with me in everyday of my life. I got a call from POEA informing me to process my papers for Korea. Though I had lots of apprehensions and fears but I anchored my life in God and made a decision to say YES to the opportunity because I know God has a greater purpose and reason why I have to go to Korea and work. God wants me to find a greener pasture to earn enough money so that we can pay our debts. Pero para sa pera lamang ba? Paano ako mabubuhay doon kung ang lahat ng gagawin at inaatupag ko ay para sa pera? I’m confused! From then on, I always pray to Him to let me see the greater purpose. Hindi madali para sa akin na humiwalay sa pamilya for 3 long years, considering the fact that I’m the youngest of the family and I am pampered so much by my parents. I spent sleepless nights thinking of where and how can I get the money needed for my expenses going to Korea. I’ve been crying thinking of the life that I’ll be living in Korea and the challenges that I’ll be going through without somebody to lean on.
Finally, Jan 10, 2005, my arrival here in Korea! The place is so great! Three weeks pa lang ako dito, but I got lots of friends. Slowly I’m finding a greater purpose, to gain lots of friends and to somehow touch their lives in a very special way. But life is not always that great nakakapagod din ang trabaho at hindi tulad sa Pinas, pagdating ko ng bahay, handa na ang lahat. Dito kailangan ako ang kumilos pero tinatagan ko sarili ko. I prayed continuously. And I said to myself, "Dapat makita ko ang simbahan dito."
In one of my working days, isa sa mga kasamahan ko sa trabaho ang nag-invite sa akin to visit Galilea Migrant Center and located here is the church where most of Filipinos attend religious activities. It was indeed an amazing experience going there! Naalala ko tuloy ang mga ginagawa ko sa Church namin sa Cebu! Back then, I was a choir member. I suddenly felt, an inner joy, peace and my search for a greater purpose has been found. Hindi lang ako nandito to earn money but also para makapaglingkod sa Panginoon. February 15, 2006, I joined the AFC Choir. I sing during the Holy mass and every Wednesday of the week, I attend the novena of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. I am very happy to see how much people really felt that they needed God. Indeed, I’m so blessed since I found not only the Home of the Lord but also the warm acceptance of the community. I found my greater purpose of why I’m here. That's why always put in your heart and mind that you are always being loved by God.
